Got the seed way back when from Costa Rica and have moved, repotted, and replanted. I’m not sure what species it is, but the names that have been thrown out have been B. militaris and B. glandulosa ‘ ‘entire leaf.’ Not nearly as spiny as most Bactris. I had B. gasipaes, but cut it out, too fast, too much frond drop, and a heavy clumper. It was spineless though, so that was good as well as the hearts of palm it provided.

If the underside of the leaf feels fuzzy then my guess is b. Hondurensis. I will add a few when the sun comes up, I love this genus

I have  B. gasipaes, it's a pretty palm but mine is far from spineless. It died back in 09/10 freeze and I was OK with that as it's a menace to be around but it came back strong from the ground.  It's not a super heavy clumper but it clumps and is still menacing my yard.

John, I’ll check the back, but I don’t think there is any fuzz. This is a huge and varied  genus for those not familiar with it.

Doug, I hear ya, took me a couple of years to finally get rid of the new canes that continued to come up. Pretty palm, but boy it took a lot of maintenance.

Keith, looks like a Cryosophila, not a Bactris. Nice palms though, not quite as deadly.

Here's my contribution, Tim. Seeds from RPS as B. coloradonis in May 2012. Finally got four of them planted in a semi-shaded area in early 2020. Only big bifid leaves for a long time, but now pinnate leaves are developing.

There are some spines along the bottom of the rachis, visible if one looks carefully in this picture:
