@Palms1984 Now that’s “postcard” perfect , right there! One of the many reasons I’m still in Southern California . It was a very warm month for March , following a very wet year . What’s not to be grateful for , warm weather , plenty of rain and happy palm trees. Harry

Yes, it was a perfect picture, I didn’t even need to crop it.

Not too much rain here in San Diego, but very warm to hot weather all winter long.  I believe I had only two morning lows of 44 degrees this whole winter with many days above 80  and even 90 degrees.  Pretty unbelievable, even for San Diego’s inland urban areas.

Mislabeled maybe? The palm in the photo is palmate, Cyphophoenix nucele is not.

Thank you for the correction. I have found that some of the palms at ANSG are incorrectly labeled. Do you have an idea what this palm may be? Thank you.

Bubba, at first I thought it might be Livistona, but honestly that’s just a guess. Other than that, I haven’t a clue.

A nifty diminutive palm from New Guinea, Hydriastele rheophytica. Loves water hence, the name, and  sparsely clumping.

I remember Brad posting a photo of one in his garden not too long ago.

I have a lot of affection for this elegant palm. And the seeds are so pretty, too!

I just noticed a spathe tip poking out from below an old boot on my Burretiokentia koghiensis.   The two oldest boots were easily removed and I could see another spathe that was previously hidden beneath a boot.  They didn't get an opportunity to fully open since the boots never dropped on their own.  These are the first spathes on this specimen.

I didn't think this would open sky flowers but I was mistaken.   It is a pleasant surprise to see them.

I don’t know Richard I think that Dypsis rosea new frond would be much redder down here - send it down and I’ll look after it 🤣

Wasnt I meant to get you to send your one up my way, how silly of me to forget about that. Looks like I better get my shovel and plane ticket and mossy on down to the refrigerator they call Melbourne.
I would drive down but $4000 on fuel there and back, cheaper to fly!🪰
