I noticed a spadix beginning to push out of my Pseudophoenix sargentii a couple of months back with anticipation.   It is the first one this palm.  Today I checked it's status and saw that it never fully opened.   We'll, at least it has hit this milestone and may flower someday in the future.

One of my Chamaedorea Ernesti Augusti decided to flower . It already needs to be repotted after only a year in this pot . I think I will wait for Spring and just freshen up the soil unless it is root bound . Harryimage.thumb.jpg.365be6a6b7d3582b51b99eadf57a9167.jpg

It looks like it has gotten a bit of a trunk as well. These grow very well here . This has been the warmest January I can remember . Highs in the mid 80’s f and lows in the mid 50’s . We had lows in the upper 40’s already this year but ,since all the rain we got , it’s been very warm . Harry

It's winter in Mississippi. Things happen

These caught my eye and I am disappointed. They just taste like normal Reese's to me. IMG_20251230_140235.thumb.jpg.32415a09ea8f7620a49d4e05e0a900fd.jpg

A nice little chamaedorea adscendens flowering a bit late.
This little lady is planted way down the bottom of the 5 acres, never received much attention yet growing strong.

A couple of the seeds you sent me sprouted. Wait I meant to say I germinated some craft beads and got some chamaedorea.

Good stuff, a lot of craftwork beads went to all corners of the globe. Out of 12 packs only one didn’t make it. I won’t name the country but it’s very third world and I wasn’t surprised it didn’t get there due to corruption. But good stuff glad you got something going,  treasure them they will be your forever palms, outside in the shade in summer time and you know the winter rules indoors!

There a cracker of a gun palm! Unfortunately it may never go in the ground, my climate is just to dry for such a water loving palm. Yes I can irrigate, soil amendment, but the week I want to go away or just get to busy and forget to water all that work will just die when you get 6 weeks of no rain and temperatures around 35 and up for weeks in end it’s a recipe for disaster. Not to mention all the gum trees drinking any amount of water available, I guess get the chainsaw out cut them down t then I lose my animal habitat just so I can grow an exotic plant. Why should the environment suffer for a bit of garden vanity.
