The orchid?  They pop up all over the place but I dont think in this photo, I think the pink is a bromeliad flower.

This sunrise ,  as I gaze through the fronds of our Howea , caught my attention! We are expecting a rain storm tomorrow and we are at the leading edge of the storm , creating a fire in the sky. HarryIMG_1046.thumb.jpeg.0cbf0e2e60a71c72206104b73349e309.jpeg

A praying mantis and it’s the only insect you want to come back as a female! She eats the male after mating, bit of a tough love thing!

This isn't really beautiful or anything but seeing how much I can squeeze in these storage bins is nice. Top water the bananas and let everything else bottom water and soak up the fertilizer runoff.

@Palms1984 I really need to make another trip down to San Diego . I rarely go without visiting and spending a full day at Balboa Park and the zoo. Any update on the recently moved Bizmarkia? Harry

A few nice Satakentia at a nursery in Homestead, Florida.  Needless to say I walked out with a 5-gal to take back to South Texas!  😉

After 4 days of a rain . Maybe a break with more on the way. More than just a silver lining. Deep watering for our palms in Southern California . HarryIMG_4528.thumb.jpeg.9306f8a242a025eb9d218cfa18f74504.jpeg

Lights are crooked because I haven't untied their power cables yet. I sat on this table just to make sure it was solid and I'm about 210 pounds. I stood on it hanging lights. I think it can handle some seedlings. Now that it's done I found all the extra braces I had tucked away for it.

Like Harry, I was drawn to the site of a rainbow 🌈 visible from my walkway, looking west.  Unfortunately, to get to the end of this rainbow,  I would need to dawn my wetsuits and paddle out to find it.  After all the pollution runoff, I will wait a couple of days before returning to the ocean.  The palms lining my walkway were also a draw for my eyes.

There are some who are still swimming in Lake Constance, with an air temperature of 5 degrees Celsius and a water temperature of 10.2 degrees Celsius at the moment.
Yesterday, I saw people ranging in age from 20 to 85, and everyone we spoke to said they had been doing it for a long time and had gotten used to the much colder water in winter... We were once in water at 13 degrees Celsius, but it still felt cold.

Wonderful, Tracy. It's always worth going out, whether you're feeling less fit or not. It's great, it encourages you to move and observe.

A huge villa with lots of palm trees, a large yard, and a garden with many flowers was recently sold by the owner. By local standards, it has a yard of about 800 square meters with a direct view of the lake. He said he was moving into an apartment because he was 86 years young, emphasizing the word “young.” The new owner had a huge house built that looks like a multi-story garage. Okay, he left the palm trees, but otherwise everything is concrete... With the best will in the world, it looks awful, and the best is yet to come: he even blocked the view of the lake, which means he has to go up several floors to see the lake at all...
The residents said it was a man of about 28 who had received a huge inheritance...
