I have not been able to get any of my seed to sprout.  That said, I have not given up hope.  Saw a video where jub seeds popped up 25 years later.

Would love to buy a seedling from whoever is able to get them sprouted.

I also ate a couple, highly recommended!

That is 1 bad*** palm!

I got one to...it was a shelled cotyledon test.. it's in a houseplant atm..!

In hindsight.. the poor germination rate may be due to the pruning I did during it's last flowering.. I have a theory that the palm was nutrient starved and may have effected the seed development in some way.. during that last flowering the palm grew quite slow as well.. this go around the palm is growing a fair bit quicker and that's with the 2 extra stalks..

Any rate there is quicker germination apparently with seed right after they're removed from the tree..

I wonder..has anyone tried germinating jubaea in a glass of water??

Looks like that palm has grown well in one year. Were last years seeds good?  If so you could sell them or the pollen.  As far as cutting the spathes off I think the palm probably uses a lot of it's energy just getting the spathes big enough for you to remove them and that can not be avoided. Maybe leave one spathe and cut off most of the seeds, just leaving enough for you to experiment with.

I'm going to leave them all alone I think.. !  I wonder how much seed I'm going to end up with now...5 spathes.. not 100% sure yet but I think all 5 are setting seed..

I am going to unearth 1 or 2 seeds and crack em open.  The few I opened in the beginning did sure looked alive, and I mean that literally, they shined and sparkled in the sunlight. If that makes sense.

That tree and seed is special!

Let me know if you need help harvesting seed...

here are the five seedlings from the first year trying this…. I incorrectly labeled them as F2 so don’t beat me up for it lol.

I finally potted them up from their second nursery bag size two weeks ago.  These are so slow, like sooo slow but I’m hoping patience will be rewarded.  Will be super interesting watching these grow up.

thanks to Jimmy for his generosity and working with me!

Wow, what a beautyful and tough palm with lots of tasty fruits! Good job.

I hope my yatay x jubaea f1 is going to bloom too next year. And I'm very excited how it will look like and if the fruits are edible too.

For me it was like a somewhat fibery apricot/mango.  With a complete mini coconut inside.  Incredibly tasty!

That was rehydrated from dried seed.

Fruit looks exactly like Jubaea fruit and imagine tastes exactly like it too.  (However you'd describe that!) If it was a BxJ F3 I'd expect the fruits to be just like Butia.  B. odorata fruits look very similar to Jubaea fruits but the seeds of Jubaea are larger.  You can make a nice batch of jelly from that haul!  :)

I'm still not sure exactly how this hybrid came to be.. if anyone knows please chime in!

If the ID is correct and it's a JxB F3 then the initial hybrid was created by taking pollen from a Butia's male flowers and pollinating a Jubaea with it.  The mother palm of the hybrid is listed first - in this case Jubaea.  The resulting hybrid would be a JxB F1.  Then when that F1 palm matures and sets seed (self pollination) and you germinate one to produce a JxB F2.  That F2 seedling would then mature and set seeds and again a seedling is germinated from the F2 parent producing your F3 palm which has now produced seeds (potential JxB F4).  It would take several years to get to the F4 stage from the initial F1 hybrid.
