No AC and it's too hot to work in the yard. My palms are in heaven, and life is good.

Two days later and the heat's not letting up at all. 99.7F in the shade at 11am this morning. I'm hosing all plants down. My primary activity this weekend is walking around in my pool with a cold Corona in one hand.

Has been hot with not nearly enough rain. A couple of very light showers over the past few days, but not even enough rain to wet the concrete under my truck. This has been a dry summer for real. I have relied on irrigation a lot so far. Do dry summers mean cold winters ???

I have been blessed with about 3" or more of rain since last Monday - none sinced Fri night. Days are still the usual 90F+ w/sun, but oh did everything grow! I can see the difference, the bananas are huge in a week - palms throwing out new fronds. I hope we get more! Greg

The annual dry season has been wetter and cooler than normal.  September is normally the driest and the hottest month of the year.  It will be interesting to see what comes this year.  It certainly has been cooler here than up in North America.

I'll chime in for TX.  Houston is over 50" of rain so far, 18" above normal.  Fortunately it's been pretty even, no tropical deluge as we sometimes get.  Overall high's, below normal, low's above, due to the clouds and rain.  BTW, the "near term average" in my signature is for the last 7 years as opposed to the long-term historical average (probably 120 years).  I'll be interested to see what this year does for the 21st century numbers.

I love September in Georgia!  It started off a little hot.  But now the temps are supposed to be in the low to mid 80's F for the extended forecast.  The humidity should keep dropping too.  It's still a little high today (dewpoint is 70F).

We need some rain though.  We are now under a total outdoor watering ban.  Lakes and ponds are showing a lot of beach.  Fortunately the only palm I have in the ground is a T. Fortunei that looks great.  It's not struggling a bit with the drought.

You could be writing about SoCal in your comments.  We are facing a serious water shortage if this winter remains dry [weak La Nina can be quite dry or wet  :P  we hope

Dew points are low lately w/ plenty of sunshine & cooling temps.  In fact, next week may be quite cool as a deeping trough sits offshore.

My bizzies are loving it, 97-99 daytime high, 76-78 nightime low, partly cloudy and humidity at 30-35%.  Grow baby grow!!  the mornings outside with coffee are glorious, and the pool in the evening is sublime.  With weather like this who needs clothes.  Another 2 months of  nice growing weather for my palms.

weather just gets better every day.  Woke up this morning to 69 degrees and somewhat dry(30% RH), very nice.  Highs yesterday were 95 F and dry(20% RH) according to my backyard weather station.  The desert cool off was in effect as temps dropped 10 degrees(from the high) just one hour after sunset.  Its soooo nice, my favorite time of year.  Night time lows have dropped almost 20 degrees in two weeks!  After our record hot summer, my palms are loving it, the glow is returning.

The cool off was very late this year happ, usually we start to cool at the end of august, but it was a funny year, the strangest in the last 10 for sure.  Funny thing is a 95 high with low humidity is so nice, I dont even want to go in the pool as it is cooling evaporatively.  We usually prefer more humidity for pool weather at 95 degrees.  Now if I work in the yard digging during the daytime, the pool will be a very nice cool off.  Its great work out weather in the morning, I almost forgot with the summer heat why I love desert weather ..... at least most of the time.  Many of my my palms are now in "maximum grow" weather again as soil temps(for the roots) are 75-80 degrees.

Grrr i hate this weather, April was very good and summer look a like ... but from then we have got only west to north winds they have given the whole summer not once a stable periode with very nice and warm sunny weather ... a lot of rains with tempetures between the 16-24C/60.8-75.2F! Sometims we have got a couple day's better weather ... but i have got only once a tempeture around the 30C/86F.

So this summer was be a normal summer... but one thing we have can concluded from this summer. In the "old" climate with a strong west/north circulation then e have got tempeture's under the normal average adn we have got a too cold summer. But now the summer around normal... so this again a sign from global warming.

Some people ave talked about a colder winter already because but i hope now the west circulation stay's then we have got a mild winter. This weekend must be good weekend .. right now it's 20.5C/68.9F, tomorrow we get 21C/69.8F and on sunday 24C/75.2F ... and then we get a another autemm week with tempeture's between the 15-18C/59-64.4F.

Only the night tempeture's still high, that was also the whole summer .. between the 10-15C/50-59F.

We had a couple of cooler nights in the early part of this week.  One night went down to 5°C/41°F.  It's frustrating, because after a dismal summer the outside stuff has only started growing properly this month and now I'm at the point where I think I should probably stop feeding the outside plants.

With soil temps overnight at 78-80 degrees, my bismarckias are opening another round of spears, the first since they stalled in the 110F+ heat.  My sabals are starting to glow again after the record heat and also producing new palms.  The high was 97F(20% RH) yesterday, the overnight low this morning was 72 F(53% RH), after some clouds moved in at dusk and sprayed a little shower over the landscape.  Forecast high is 98F  today, but some more moisture is moving into the area and is predicted to drop the highs to 90F tomorrow, rising to 96F by next tuesday.

The growing season was interrupted by the extended summer heat(110F+), one of my bizzies even put out a "dwarf" palm(1' smaller across than the others) in response to the nasty heat.  The spears that are opening now are quite large in comparison.

September has been normal at 9Cmin and 20Cmax but wet with 77mm of rain. Hail and thunderstorms tonight with a forecast 20-30mm of rain and a max of 16C forecast. Wind gusts to 125kph, then 24C by the weekend. Dams are filling up fast. The average rainfall for Sept is 81mm, and I think we'll get well over 100mm this month. I'm looking forward to next weekend when the weather will rapidly get better and better. We'll have 2 or 3 weeks of spring, then get blasted by summer until early April. I can't wait for barbeque weather.

A few more daily records have fallen as the area continues to see highs in the mid-90's. 54 days at or above 90 this year officially, but my place has recorded 71 as I'm locked in the downtown district, plus we're 40% below our average rainfall for the year too with less than 0.75" of rainfall since August 1st.

Running pretty much on the long term average over here.  The average high for the month (through 9/27/07) has been 90.9F and the average low 74.2F.  Ive logged 6.08" of rain so far this month, but the lion's share of it (4.45") fell on a single day (9/9/07).

Here in Central Western Amazonia the dry season has not been all that dry and the temperatures are below normal.  The month of the September has been relatively cool.  It is common this time of year to have over 100 F temperatures nearly every day.  This year the weather has been impacted by La Niña.  I do not have the rain totals, but I am sure they are substantially above average.  The weather today has been fairly common for the month.  It looks like the rainy season may kick in a little earlier than normal as well.  It normally starts the begining of November.
