What kind of containers do growers use to grow hundreds to thousands of palms from seed?

Good points. I think the whole LB issues will be solved by the time I have mature date palms. I think they isolated a chemical that makes palms resistant to LB but it’s still being researched.

They are in my opinion the best looking phoenix spp. so I want to try to grow like a hundred of them along with mule palms, brahea armata, brahea Clara and Jubaea.

I'd like to think there's a solution to LB, but LY has been around since the mid 1800s and there's no cure for it either.  I did read about Brian Bahder's idea of spreading a "false infection" chemical around to incite trees to create an immune reaction.  But at this point it's just a theory.  Obviously you could inject the palms yearly with oxytetracycline, but that would get expensive and old pretty quick...

I have done ok with Brahea Clara and Nitida in a full sun "high and dry" spot.  Clara struggled in a low but reasonably dry area, and fortunately seems to have survived transplant to the dry front yard area.  I haven't tried Armata.  I read they grow ok in FL but have fungal spotting problems if not in full sun.  Jubaea might be a struggle, though Scott W in Jax has had one growing for quite a few years.  I have JxB and BxJ in the ground and growing well.

The only video I could find of someone growing dactylifera in Florida. Looks like it’s possible but these guys are experts obviously.

i would like to start a nursery in 5 years with these drought tolerant palms. Saves money on irrigation. I do have some mule seeds I just bought from @Bigfish I hope will germinate. In the meantime, just learning as much as possible.
