Problem?

I recently purchased a Christmas palm from Home Depot and it came with curled leaflets, is this a sign of a problem or it’s natural?

Might be a bit dry to get the curl, but it's normal. A Christmas Palm being itself.

Christmas palms are among the first palms I ever grew over 30 years ago before I could even tell the difference between palm species. Until you mentioned it I had never really noticed the way that the leaflets curl around themselves. It's probably something I realized subconsciously but had not actively thought about. After I read your post I went and looked at my clump of older and healthy Adonidias and could see how twisted the leaflets actually are. Interesting.

Your palm looks fine but I've gotta wonder why you are buying a palm like this at a big box store. They are so common around here that you should be able to find seeds anywhere or possibly dig a volunteer out of a neighbor's yard. Christmas palms are great but I would save my money for something a little less common.

This palm has been on my wishlist for over 3 years and haven’t seen any sold in my big box stores. They finally started selling these for 5 dollars per pot. I would collect seeds, but I would not wait for it to get to that size, also I’m bad at digging, so no digging up palms. :)
