To me it looks like the growth point may have either fell over or a new growth point took over. Im not an expert though.

Pandahill,  Welcome to Palmtalk !  What species is this palm, and what is your location ?  :)

In California this symptom is seen in Howea forsteriana, and is usually attributed to a lack of boron.

I believe it’s an Alexander Palm located in Brisbane Australia

I do have a small (palm of your hand) sized hole in the base of the trunk that looks like termites or borers
