My employees (and former employees) bring their pets by my office so I can meet them.

Pictured are Solo napping on my desk, and Beans the baby guinea pig. Beans bit me right after this photo - I think he was mad that I stopped petting him to send an email.

It was just too nice of a day to be inside, so here are a few shots of the yard critters.

Sometimes the feral cats cooperate:

Little guys seem to love the big gals:

And a few in the frostweeds:

Neo is 18 years old. We think he's a Burmese-Siamese cross. He lost a front leg in a fight with a car back in 2007, but his 'right hook' is still formidable!

John, there is a rigid collar, called "BiteNot" that immobilizes the dog's neck.  This can be more comfortable for the dog,  like not tripping on staircases.  However, it only works for injuries on the torso, and won't help with leg injuries where the dog can still lick.   :)

We used it to great effect when our dog suffered a nasty laceration on her rib cage.

Thanks Darold! Unfortunately it's one of his back legs. He's chewed past the skin, and his lymph nodes are massive. Poor guy came home with $200 worth of pills.

Power has been out at my apartment since 2am last night. Entergy has been pushing back the time to fix by an hour since 3am. It's now 9pm  plus it's storming for the next few hours.

So me and Sancho are back at work. I guess running a hotel occasionally has its perks.

This year we got some new kittens, who are now more or less full grown cats.  I am pleased to discover that they like the container ranch nearly as much as I do.

Sancho has been fighting off a UTI for a little while now. He was allergic to the first 2 antibiotics, the 3rd one did nothing, and now he's taking something so strong I'm supposed to wear gloves when I handle it. He went through 3 ultrasounds, a cat scan and X-rays to make sure he didn't have kidney stones or anything worse. I had to start a GoFundMe to help pay for his bills... He's had so much energy and he's happy to be in a big house with tons of land and plenty of long country roads to walk... You'd never know he was sick. He still good boy.

My mom has tons of feral cats, and he gets along with most of them. The possums and raccoons eat the cat's food, and Sancho loves to chase them off and wants to fight them. He's barked more in the past month than he has in his entire life, and his bark is hilarious - he sounds way bigger than he is, but he doesn't sound like a big dog at all.

Here he is giving me the stink eye because the doc had to put a catheter in his infected boy parts for a urinalysis.

One of my mom's cats had kittens a couple months ago. This little one won't stop crying when it sees me, until I pick it up. Only me, not my mom, not my brother, just me. So after talking in a couple group text convos and googling "crying celebrities," I've named it Kitteney Spears. This is in addition to the outside kitten that follows me and Sancho like a dog - really need to get a picture of that other still unnamed kitten with Sancho.

So Burmese × Siameese cats are a breed of their own, Tonkineese.   My wife had one when we began dating, decades ago.   We have one now too.  He is only a one year old who loves his big sister,  an eleven year old Appenzeller Sennenhund.
