Tell me how hardy Sabal Blackburn? There is very little information about him. Which one of you is growing?

So Sabal Blackburniana is a mystery sabal synonymous with Domingensis. Many will agree for and against that with little scientific fact. I read back that there are PT members who are growing this palm. I would be curious what they might think it is nowadays. Is this palm available for sale and your just wondering what to expect for growth and hardiness ?

This 'species' can take fierce summer sun and winter frosts where I live, so I have it placed so its huge fronds help shade my more sun-sensitive palms.  I got mine from Phil at Jungle Music who usu. has several sizes available: http://www.junglemusic.net/palms/sabal-blackburniana.htm

It's kind of wimpy with cold when compared to palmetto, minor, etonia, mexicana and uresana. It's very much like domingensis for leaf hardiness. Mid teens will smoke the leaves.

Low teens started burning the leaves on mine but they are certainly 6-8f leaf hardier than an dominguensis in my area.  They are slow as molasses though.  I have one with 3' trunk and it just sits there.
