Hyphaene Oasis in Ethiopia

Featured Replies

I was watching this documentary about Hamadryas Baboons in Awash National Park in Ethiopia last December in China. I almost jumped out of my seat when I saw an Hyphaene thebatica oasis and the baboons were picking and eating the palm fruits for breakfast. Now I am happy to report that it is available on YouTube.

Go straight to the 12:30 mark and watch just the next two minutes if you are in a hurry or are mainly interested in palms. To me the best scene is the silhouette of those baboons dining leisurely across the palm branches with fresh green curvy fronds in the back.
