Well over MLK weekend, I went out of town. Prediction was for a low of 33 and I didn't want to risk it. So I wrapped the alfies with flannel and then plastic for 4 days while I was gone.. I did not use the heat cables. It did not freeze (based on unfazed bananas). But the palms were very browned. Probably more damage than a light freeze would have done. So, the moral of the story is do not wrap palms like this for very long- bad things will happen.
