Hardy Trachycarpus

Recommended Posts

Hi. Arrange species of the genus Trachycarpus from the most resistant to frost to the least resistant judging from your experience.

Hopefully Joeseph will chime in, I think he has more experience with and sells more varieties of Trachy then pretty much anyone on here.

Trachycarpus martianus is the most cold sensitive. It is for USDA 9b. Trachycarpus latisectus is more cold hardy than martianus, but less cold hardy than other species. Both martianus and latisectus grow very well even in tropical climate. The most cold hardy are Trachycarpus fortunei and wagnerianus.
