I bought this Butia 4 days ago at a big box store on clearance.  The frond turning brown started yesterday and is much worse.  Does anyone know what this is and what I should do to treat it?  Thanks

Could be a fungus, petiole blight perhaps. Treat with copper fungicide. http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/m/#publication?id=PP145

Thanks Brad,

I sprayed all of the fronds and crown with Bonide copper based fungicide.  The black spots don;t seem to have spread since then.  The brown has not gone away (and I assume it never will? Palms don;t seem to heal,  They just shed old fronds and replace them with nicer ones?) . I will continue to treat with Bonide (every 7 days) keep it away from the rest of herd and see what happens.
