Cayptrocalyx color coordination

I was supposed to be cleaning up the clutter on my porch, but that red leaf on Calyptrocalyx polyphyllus in my adjacent shade house caught my eye.

Then I saw 3 more of this genus competing for best color so I forced myself to stop cleaning and take their pictures.

This one is Calyptrocalyx polyphyllus.

Below is C. archboldianus.

Next is C. laxiflorus.

Last of the quartet is C. sanumb.

Yes, eventually I finished the cleaning (well, good enough anyway) and then got back to the fun stuff like playing with palms.

How have your "in-ground" palms done since the Hurricane? Those potted examples look great!

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

"The great workman of nature is time."   ,  "Genius is nothing but a great aptitude for patience."

-George-Louis Leclerc de Buffon-

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

The nearly daily pleasant showers expected for May through November have finally begun and all my plants rejoice.

Calyptro's are such great little palms, good scale, color, easy care, and always good lookers. You've got some uncommon species that are looking perfect!

I'm loving the unique leaf color on Calyptrocalyx Laxiflorus. I just put three in the ground.

You are smart to have 3!
