It could be Acoelorraphe wrightii. I know they are native to the Yucatan coast.

Did you snorkel by the floating bridge at Xel-Ha? (the one by the inlet) It is something else to be in the water surrounded by huge Tunas! You can even pet them, and they hardly ever bite :D  I hope you got a chance to tube down the mangroves there. Tulum, Xcaret it is all alot of fun. I am glad you had a good time, if you ever go in January, maybe I'll run into you.

yes it is about 25 miles south of cancun . that is were the airport is .you pass it on the way.

Hey mike. yes that bridge was cool. ther was a lot of big fish there and the water was so clear. Tulum was neat but kind of hot. yes we also went to Xcaret. it  was bad to the bone! cant wait to go back. Januray sounds great.

Mike Beautiful pics..... Been there many times..... Usually I go to Cancun, then rent a jeep and drive down rt-307 to Playa..... Did you take the Ferry to Cozumel while you were there?   Also, did you see any of the strolling Mariachi's on the beach?

Hey Bobby. yea we went to cozumel and here is the ferry to pick us up. i did not see the Mariachis on the beach, but i saw a lot of topless fine chicks.

They have these mopeds for rent on Cozumel that you can ride around the whole perimeter of the island - it's alot of fun.

Thanks Kris. ita a great place to vacation to get away from the everyday hassels of life. all you have to worry about is are you going to the beach are the pool, are what drink to try next!!

i try to get my wife to ride one but she was scared she would get run over by one of the crazy taxie drivers.

Did you see the palm and tropical nursery at Xel-Ha?

It's a little hard to find, but worth going through. We find lots of palm seeds washed up on the beach there, and a few have germinated over the years. I'm not sure what kind they are though.

Thats funny you should mention that . i found a lot seeds while i was there some on the ground some on trees i stuffed them in suitcase . i was scared i would get in trouble but noboby said anything.so i am going to plant them.

Must have driven thru Playa del Carmen on the way to the airport and Tulum.  Yucatan holds much beauty  :P Are there tours of the peninsula focused on palm/colorful jungle growth?
