Snow in San Antonio (at least on the Northwest side) tonight!  Probably no big deal to a lot of you, but major deal here.  This does not happen often in this part of Texas.  A couple of pictures of light dusting on some of my palms.

    We are about to get an inch or so here in Virginia, temperatures for my specific area are not suppose to drop below 30 degrees F.

    29F when I got in my car this morning.  Temperature warmed up to 56 this afternoon with sunny skies; everything has melted.

    I just hope both the Brahea sp. (Super Silver) and Jubaea chilensis (Chilean Wine Palm) that I got from you last January will be OK after this.  Unfortunately I left them both outside during this episode (protected under a covered back porch).  Very little snow landed on them (nothing stuck), but they were subject to a wet cold below 30F.  BTW...both were doing great before the Great South Texas Blizzard of 2017; your palms are first rate!

    The small super silver may bronze, but the jubaea wont blink at that temp.  Once the super silvers turn silver you'd have to have an 80s era cold to burn it.

    Yes.  I sprouted it from a seed I picked up from the ground in Austin's Mayfield Park back in the early '90s. It's a little over 20 years old.

    There's quite a large naturalized population in that park, and in the adjoining Laguna Gloria museum grounds.
