This is my Basselinia glabrata. It was growing in my greenhouse two years and in the last months in the greenhouse appeared brown spots in the leaves.

In March it was planted in the garden and the brown spots contiued. The last leave, opened is green and healthy.

What is the problem? Deficiency? Of course, i am sure it is not sun burn. The palm tree always is in shadow and never seen the direct sun light. And the brown spots are different than the brown in a sun burned leave.

The palm is growing fast ( for a new caledonian ) from April to now, 3 leaves. But i am litle bit worried.

Can you help me?IMG_20171101_095350.thumb.jpg.0ce737a9ceIMG-20171101-WA0007.thumb.jpg.c8fd119af0

I'm not sure how warm your greenhouse is, but in my experience New Cals are a touchy bunch in a greenhouse. Not too warm & they do great; a degree or two above & they suffer. The brown spots may be either a direct or indirect consequence of that excess heat and/or humidity. I think now that's it's in ground you shouldn't have any issues.

My greenhouse is like a freezer, it is in the north face of my house and the brown spots appeared last Winter.

I think is not a heat problem.

No insects, i never have had problems with mealy bugs, scales, spider mites, white flyes, etc.

And i think is not lack of humidity, my greenhouse in Winter is closed and it has high humidity. My garden, only has a few days per year with low humidity. It was growing close a Johannesteijmania and Geonoma atrovirens, and both palms are green, near perfection.

I think is lack of minors, but not sure.
