I believe the new name of this is now Veitchia subdisticha

Yes, the new name is Veitchia, happened a few years back. 

Fast growing, straight as an arrow, compact crown, and short petioles. These have been in the ground for six years or so and have fattened up

since planting. There is an orange handled shovel at the base of the grouping.

They were such skinny little things back then. Kinda like me way back when.
