Anyone using anti-transpirants?

Every summer palms are damaged, to an extent, during periods of heat.  Also extremely dry conditions coupled with strong winds do a number on palms.  For example, dew points & relative humidity have dropped into single digits this week.  Palm trees with the most exposure to wind & sun eventually show tip burns and premature yellowing.

Do anti-transpirants [ie "Cloud Cover"] work effectively to protect palms like archontophoenix, ravenea, roystonea, etc ?

It would be a bit difficult to apply/spray anti-transpirant on tall palms but I'll do it if it works  ???

Happ,

I haven't tried it for protecting outdoor palms but I'm pretty sure it would help.

I have been growing stuff in a fishtank incubator all winter, that has very high humidity, and started moving things from there into the greenhouse over the last few months.  The first few plants that I moved (non-palms) wilted immediately and most died.  The ones that lived are still struggling.  The last plants that I moved I sprayed with anti-transpirant and they didn't skip a beat.  Have even opened new leaves that are fine.  The stuff really works.  I used "Cloudcover".
