    Avenue planting is very hit or miss. If they match they look great but often you see a ragged line with a few missing!

    ... and butias in between.

    I agree Phillip ... never thought it was the most attractive palm...although they do have quite a novel look to them

    From what I noticed D decaryi doesn't seem to like pure tropical climates as much as subtropical or even some warm temperate climates. I've seen many specimens in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand look like the ones pictures, thin leaflets, droopy leaves and fairly thin trunks. I think they look much more attractive when they are thicker with more rigid and robust fronds. Some of the best ones I've seen were in Adelaide (warm temperate).

    Maybe a less humid climate helps too ?
