I've tried several of both the orange and maroon form at different properties to no avail.  But I have seen a few of the maroon form successfully and nicely grown in a few different gardens in the lower Keys, so they can work down here.

Such great palms and I hope you can get them growing for you! I admired them in botanical gardens for years, especially Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania but never thought I would be so blessed to be able to have 35 of my own. No help for trying them in Florida.

After seeing what the rocky Hawaiian soil does for the roots, I'd plant mine in a crack in the driveway if I were in Naples.  :lol:

I'm going to keep this orange dude potted until it gets too big to move (optimistic aren't I?)
