Darla, my infamous R. borenquenia (tall palm on the right), dropped a leaf, and it landed in the crown of the nearby Dypsis plumosa.

Nice catch, no damage.

While the leaf was the length of the Trucklet of TerrorTM it was nowhere near the size of the R. regia leaves. I suspect they'll get bigger as time goes by.

Dypsis plumosa is looking quite happy, about the size of mine, which is more or less beneath a Carpentaria.  

Fla. climate center: 100-119 days>85 F
USDA 1990 hardiness zone 9B
Current USDA hardiness zone 10a
4 km inland from Indian River; 27º N (equivalent to Brisbane)

Central Orlando's urban heat island may be warmer than us
