Just a few pick of the D. hovomantsina, that I donating to H.P. Gardens, Orlando, Florida, got me a new Canon SX 410 IS, so I couldn't wait to try it out, Ed

Yes true Josh, a few mnths ago I planted 1 of my 3 leaf seedlings in Full sun and when I give it a tug  ( yes the Hovomantsina, so no smarty ass comments Josh) I can feel the roots are going down deep, its really at work down there and I think most palms ( bar Lemur and Licuala and a few others) as long  as they are babied and very much looked after will outdo a palm in a pot "any day". My Carlsmithii's that went in 1st of the same batch are 4 and 5 times larger than the 1s I pot on....    Pete

Much faster in ground as pete said. This one stood still in a pot for 18months until planted in the 1st pic. 2nd pic is 14months later.

Harry from the humid, high rainfall Tropics, all palms grow fast up there thats for sure, a few more close ups would be great.    Pete

WOOO HOOO  Harry, its "Really" Crankn, glad yr hand is there for some scale, I'd guess the leaf/frond  is "near" 4 ft  long?.

Great stuff, keep postn pics from yr garden you keen young fella (( 30 is young when 1 is already 50 )

Look fwd to seeing it in Spring Harry, your climate in  is "choice" for growing Palms and its easy to see your keen and a good grower

I think hovo. is my fav.dypsis at least today it is. I think I have six planted throught out the garden agreat looking palm at any stage.

Sure is , Bills not only a very ,  but Nongs cooking keeps him going all day   , and Harry with yr climate yours will be at this  stage in  less than  4 yrs,  keeps us updated on this day  "every year"  Bill, Ed and Harry, many thanks.
