So my wife wouldn't let me pull out some Archontophoenix cunninghamiana's which were planted by our home's previous owners to make room for something more interesting.  My solution?  Dress them up.  Perhaps a Brassavola hybrid (Brassocattleya Richard Mueller x Brassavola nodosa)  orchid hanging in a basket, or a Laelia granulosa orchid tied off to a trunk with a Hoya hanging from it?  It sure makes looking out my office window at these rather common Archontophoenix a lot more interesting!  Amazing what a little makeover will do!!
