Cold Hardy Palms in Dallas TX

Was driving through South Dallas on the way to school and thought for a moment I had arrived in Margaritaville. At first the enormous Agave with an easy height of nearly 7' planted on the corner caught my attention and then I caught sight of the palms. The individual also owns the other 3 corner lots and has planted palms on all of them. He said many people believe this is a city park. Just on the one lot with his house he has 7 palms with companion agaves planted plus a lot more. That bright green encircling the palm are all volunteers. There are even some volunteers that germinated within the boots.

That's a pretty sweet agave americana. I have one about 18" tall atm that I expect to get there in a few years.
