Hi all

Looking to find a solution to an issue I'm having with my Foxtail palm.

Leaf starting to look a bit sus - is it mould/fungus or other

Plam is about 2 - 3 years old, and purchased it about 2 months ago with some minor spots.

Palm is now out of the shade house and in full sun from 11 to 3pm. Temps here in Adelaide are ranging from 5 - 18C at the moment, but coming into spring so hoping the warmer weather will help it along.

These palms are not cheap down here so dont want to lose it.

Soil is sandy loam, free draining.

That's likely not a foxtail palm (Wodyetia bifurcata). Its leaflets are way too thin. A young foxtail has fat leaflets similar to a fishtail palm.

Its without doubt a Foxtail Palm !

Looks to me that it is in a potting media that retains too much water for your cold winter.

I grow them from seed in NE NSW and have the same problems from time to time when over watered in winter. Overwatering isnt a problem in other months, its just that Foxys hate cold wet weather especially when young and susceptible to fungus, which yours looks to have died from.

It's not dead yet...can it be dragged back into some form of existence with some form of magical fungus killer?

Cost to get the Palm Doc out probably not worth the cost of airfares and accommodation at this stage, unless I win the lotto!
