There is no specific forum discussion on pests and deceases , so I'm posting here. I am a newbie to this forum. I am about two years into growing rare palms *other than standard King's, Queens and Robellini's*. I did plant several foxtail palms in my front yard a couple of years ago among a kentia, hyophorbe lagenicaulis, dypsis lutescens, cham. macroparpa and c. plumosa. Everything is on drip irrigation - no sprinklers. I 'm in Dana Point, CA and live about a mile from the coast in two directions. We're on a 'ridge' street (as opposed to a canyon street) so we seem to never get temps below 38 - at least to my recollection during cold snaps. I also have a collection started in the backyard poolside. Anyway . . .

So, I just discovered two of the foxtails have an issue on the trunks and has me worried. I've never seen this before, but then again I'm rather new at this Palm hobby. Any help to identify this weirdness is appreciated! Look forward to learning more with this group. Lord knows I have much to learn.

All of mine have done this, as my trunks grew, these spots became part of the trunk and now they can't be noticed. I don't know if it is a disease though?

Same as Peter. Mine have these marks too. Interesting to see what the gurus say.

I am no Guru, but I think they all have these markings / bumps on them.....nothing to worry about I'd say.

Normal for a Foxtail. I've always thought it was a strange and interesting feature too.
