Hi All,

My very happy Veitchia arecina has gone brown. It is also developed an alarmingly large hole and it's trunk. Any ideas? And suggestions? The palm has been going really fast and seemed really happy.

Yes. We get about a third more rain than the L.A. basin. All the rain comes between November and March, for the most part.
