In the palm garden of Gardens By The Bay, I enjoyed discovering these Satakentia:

That's gorgeous Phillipe! I just bought a nice 7 foot over all Satakentia last Friday :) and traded some Bamboo for three 2 footers. I hope they look as nice as those someday! They grow pretty fast or at least they did for the guys I bought it from, like really fast! I hope I have the same results! I'm sending out love and good vibes for your seedlings! So they should grow like weeds for you!

Thank you Rob,

Best wishes for your new 7 feet Satakentia!
I believe Satakentia enjoys Florida's climate, we'll see how it is in Sri Lanka...

These grow relatively fast for me and taking the leaf sheath off (albeit a pain) gives that one of a kind purple hue that is really hard to convey with any other palm that I know of. Ants seem to enjoy this one though.
