behavioral research studies reveal the onset of POCD (Palm Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) symptoms occur after a person comes in contact with one or more persons already afflicted with chronic POCD – I believe my own POCD is the result of Darold Petty’s hypnotic voice during many of the Northern California Palm Society palm auctions – I can still close my eyes and hear Darold’s soothing and enticing voice “this very beautiful and most unusual palm is rarely available… at any price…”

Steve, I drove 800 miles by myself in one day to obtain a better form of a palm I already had in the ground.

(San Francisco to Rancho Soledad, and halfway back home, for Howea belmoreana.

Remain calm, and carry on ! :winkie:

Hmmm, I think I got you beat on that one. Last June, I flew to Ontario Airport in the early Morning hours, rented a moving truck, drove down I-15 to Fallbrook and Vista, loaded up on palms, and made it back to Santa Cruz before 2AM.

The trip included the following stops:

- East-West Nursery in Fallbrook

- Palm Valley Ranch in Fallbrook

- DrPlumeria in Carlsbad

- Len's place in Vista

- Discovery Island Palms

- South Coast palms

- JD Andersen

The truck was chuck full, and included 3 x 30 inch boxes. By 11AM the next day, everything was unloaded.

I don't think I'm going to do something like that again anytime soon.
