I have just one specimen of this species in a 2 or 3g pot. It is starting to cluster in several areas of its stem. I grew this palm from seeds I got from another PalmTalker. It wasn't an easy species for me to raise. I found the tiny seedlings woefully prone to damping off. I have several of my successes planted in my palm jungle but this palm quietly lurked under canopy till I found it last weekend. It's begging for a loving home. According to Encyclopedia of Cultivated Palms, this species reaches 6-10' tall and clusters grow to 12-25' wide (if you let them). Its common name is "Costa Rican bamboo palm". It is hardy in zones 10-11 and favorable microclimates of 9b. But if frozen to the ground it regrows as long as the ground doen't freeze.

Again, the particulars:

Cost: $15.00 (only 1 palm available)

Shipping: $11.25 to the West Coast, $9.00 to rest of continental US. Shipping will be via Priority Mail large tube. Because of new spikes growing from the base of the stem, I prefer not to ship anything else with this palm.

No shipping to HI. No shipping outside the U.S.

Please note: palm is at its limit of shipability. I will try to gently tuck/fold longer fronds into the tube but I may have to trim them. I will attempt to tie up the small spikes with plastic tape but they may be bruised or broken during shipping. If those prospects cause you to hyperventilate, a visit to your shrink might help.

Payment via Paypal. PM me if you are interested.

Jeff Searle has them at his sale...or did last Friday. I may have gotten the largest...but there was another big one and a few smaller.
