Very encouraging, thanks Pete!

This is exactly why i posted these pics Rich as you said you have a small Macro as does other palmtalkers, the 2005 shot blew me away, i found the pics yday . I should add the palm in 1999 was already 5 years old beleive it or not.( i got it in Dec 1993 at a 3 leafer off Maria) Another interesting point is that this palm had a slab poured within a feet of it, this is twice the size of the other 2 Cyphokentias so its got its roots under the concrete slab and Luvn it .

From the pics it looks like it took 11 years to get to a five gallon and then really took off. It must be very satisfying to see it turn into such a beauty after that long in the ground. Madagascar palms are great, but if I had to choose I would take a New Cal garden over anything else. Thanks for the pics Pete.

P.S. Are you zone 11? I would assume so.

Encinitas, CA

Zone 10b

Aaron, immensely satisfying watching them finally starting to really get into Drive mode. Aaron the stage Campecarpus Fulcitus ( now cyphophoenix fulcitus) is at now (leaves 4ft) it will be of the same stature as the larger Cypho within 4 to 5 years. Gardening is certainly very rewarding isnt it. Pete re zone? we are subtropical with an annual rainfall of 2 mtrs, which mostly falls in summer and autumn.

Both my Cyphokentias have rocketed a massive 2cms a year for 3 years. Might be time to send them to the compost heap in the sky.

Peachy

Or sell them Peachy ;)

Pete, thanks for, taking the time to post these. The good news is I should be able to get some rare NewCal stuff to the size of yours right when I retire. The bad news is that is 20 years a away. You had to of been in your early 20s when you started? Wish I would have had the interest then.
