The colors are pretty unusual-- blues and purples and the berries are about the same hues too. The guy I bought this seedling from had flowers on his mother plant but it had a thicher trunk than my plant so I may have to wait a few more years to see flowers on this

I think you might have to plant it for it to flower :). If I grow it, I usually can recognize it unless of course I have a mind melt down, which happens every now and then..,,

Ari- well the vendor I bought it from had his in a pot (and a much smaller one at that) I think he mentioned that like the bougainvilla this tree flowers better when it has experiences a drought period.

I've been meaning to put it in the ground but I just havent decided on a spot yet. The flowers tend to be hidden by the leaves so it needs to be in an open and exposed space to fully appreciate it when it blooms ( whenever that will be)

Have you been able to get yours to bloom? Should I give this baby a dose of fertilizer or something???

No, mine hasn't bloom. I should take photos so you can see how big mine is. I guess the Singapore one comes from cliff rocky area, so your seller probably is right comparing it to bougainvillea - which means I have to take the watering away from it.

I give mine some organic fertiliser.

Regards, Ari :)
