Ari, I checked both of my Costa Rica plant books and I can't find this ginger anywhere.

I posted photos once before and Michael said it could be Costus guanaiensis. Here is the original post with more photos.

I think the plant in your photo is different. The plant in my photo is more of a bush with large leaves and the flowers are located at the top of the plant. In your photos the flowers are coming from woody stems. If I run across a similar plant in one of my CR plant books, I'll let you know.

Jeff first Bromeliad pic in post 14 is a Guzmania lingulata the other very impressive one is Aechmea dactylina .

I just bought one last year , a few good pics on FCBS.org
