Fertilizing palms in SW Florida

I start fertilizing my palms in March (late March this year because of record cold). I use a NPK fertilizer of 8-2-10 with micronutrients. I followed up in late May. But from June to September inclusive, Lee County allows only so-called "black-out" fertilizer with only potassium, no Nitrogen or Phosphorous. Generally I don't worry about Phosphorous because FL is loaded with the stuff but I don't want to throw my Nitrogen out of whack. So, I'd like to use my 8-2-10 in early November to counteract any insidious effects of the black-out stuff. Would Nov. be too late in the year to fertilize? FYI, I've supplemented with fish emulsion/hydrosylate and seaweed extract a couple times in the last 6 months. I've also spread epsom salts to balance the Potassium.

Last year I fertilized late into the season and it paid off big time. In the long hot period the palms grew like crazy and puled up lots of water. Then in the cold they were at thier best and I did not loose one palm!

Ken, thanks for the quick response. How late in the season? I lost 2 dozen species last winter so anything I can do to help the rest survive the coming winter....
