    If I had to guess (and I do!) I'd say P. canariensis crossed with P. roebelenii, perfectly capturing the least attractive features of each.

    Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

    I get another picture of this palm in a different garden, you would love it. It gives the feeling of a pinnate Acoelorraphe. :)

I am not that familiar with P. paludosa, but it generally has some of the same characteristics, like the untidy upright leaf crown, I guess. Maybe its's one of the Knights Who Formerly Said Ni?

    It sure looks like a Phoenix. Im guessing a hybrid between dactylifera and robelini.. looks a bit chlorotic, and cold damaged. Is there a right answer to this question?
