Meg, did you get some seeds or seedlings, meanwhile?

Yes. Max/Maximus in Rome sent me some after this topic was posted. They all germinated. I kept 5 of the most promising. Most were normal or had some vulcano tendencies. As I couldn't find anyone to take those, I sent them to a PTer for the cost of shipping. I will take photos of mine in the next couple days.

These seeds of Chamaerops humilis var 'Vulcano' I got from RPS a couple of months ago are coming along nicely. The middle seedling pushed out of the soil media and clearly shows the remote germination process. Now I just have to wait several years before I can tell which of them has the 'Vulcano' trait. :bummed:

Joe: What age are these 3-gal 'Vulcano' and what price are they?

I think these were germinated batch 2 not batch one but ill check.  We had to increase the shade cloth over these as they stall out easily with too much sun. They're starting to move now and have filled the pots with roots. Theyll be nice plants next summer.

I can already tell a difference between these and all other med fans this size.

I grew one from seed but I don't know if it came out true.  Still it is a nice compact little palm.
