It's hard to say whether that's really true; I doubt it. The main thing is that the 2001-2002 drought was barely over before the 2004-2006 drought began.

In Sydney our rainfall was actually above average during winter, but only on the coastal fringe. Over the whole year, it is still well down on average.

Drought in the western Pacific/Australia/Southeast Asia can be caused by El Nino/ENSO-warm.  Hope wild fires are kept under control   :(

Been very dry here , not a drop of rain for nearly 3 weeks .

Its a struggle keeping the water up to all my recent plantings , as well as all the potted stuff. Hope the wet starts very soon .

I've been looking at some long range forecasts and they are saying the El Nino conditions wil break back to more neutral conditions by June 07. Some places are tipped to have above average rainfall earlier like Feb Mar. Who really knows though.
