Palms and Garden Art

Featured Replies

Garden art is a matter of taste, I would say. Some say it takes away from the natural beauty of the garden itself, and others would venture to say that it makes a garden. What is your opinion and if you have unique garden art mixed in with your palms....show it off here!

I use this glazed ball as a decoy for my male chocolate lab. He urinates in the same spot, so I taught him to urinate on this ball....prevents killing any palms!

Rick,

I like this stuff as well. I think it really adds to a garden and certainly gets people while walking through your garden, ask about these pieces. Makes good for conversations. In a tropical garden, these things are a must, IMO.

That's quite an extensive collection! Nice wind chimes, Wal. I agree with Jeff, it gets people to walk further into the garden, adds focal points. We focus on the individual palms, but non-palm people really need the extra help in the garden to focus.

Bo,

That first pic is about as natural as you can get. I think a stream of water jetting out the top would really compliment it nicely.

Those are real nice pieces for gardens. Hopefully I can add some pieces to my garden someday. Around here you do have to be careful with anything that catches water as unfortunately the dengue fever mosquito loves that environment. And, dengue is a real drag and can even kill you. One of the unpleasant realities of life in the tropics.

Thanks for starting this Rick...The metal sculpture is great, here are a couple of metal sculptures we have in our garden. Ray, good luck with your puppy. I have a great dane who loves helping me dig in the garden, she only digs when she sees me digging so she stays in the house when I plant something new.
