Cycas Debaoensis-- those leaves are really something. This one looks travel weary though-- I understand that this was just recently imported.

I got one of these-- but I wonder how stable the variegation is on this one.

Some Sansiverias. THere seems to ba a lot of interest in these plants over here lately. Some of these plants are commanding very high prices.

I don't really know what to think about these plants -- their allure escapes me.

I saw a large specimen of this in Fairchild Botanical Garden-- impressive plant. But I am told that these are actually considered as weeds in Hawaii??

Leaves are gorgeous though

They are declared weeds in QLD too...

I got the ginger-- it was a really good size and pretty reasonably priced

I found this ornamental grass with the really dark seed heads/flowers interesting.

A young Old Man Palm. Even without the hairy trunk the leaves of this palms still make it attractive

Now for the Loot

Variegated Ptychosperma -- I was told that this is Mcarthurii but I am not sure it is. The leaves look a bit too stubby.

Neat thing about it is even the off shoots are variegated

Thanks for the photos. Amsherstia nobilis looks great. I just acquired one but i think it'll take a long time for flowers as it's grown from seed.

Rthink - I now what you mean. I have a small one planted in teh ground myself and it is only about 3 feet tall now. The one that I see that have flowerres are about 8 feet tall.

It will be well worth the wait though

I was able to get another variegated palm. Anyone care to guess what the species is just based on these shots?

Its a juvenile. The leaflets on the largest one are just beginning to form. As you can see this is a clustering palm. Even the offshoots are variegated

Wow that does look like C. renda. That's going to be an amazing palm when it gets bigger.

Yup- Its a lipstick palm. I am hoping that the variegation proves stable as it ages. It would be cool if teh variegation extends all the way to teh crownshafts

Another palm I got was a Copernicia Macroglossa.

The small shoot that was poking out of the soil has had noticable growth and pushing out leaflets.

Planted out the Bohenia Kockiana as soon as it got home. This will make a good canopy for teh trellis. A new guinea creeper I planted there has not flowered in 8 years so this should be a good replacement.

Trying out Sansivarias - I got a couple but the smaller one was just a gift.

THis was the variegated ginger that I got. I already planted it in the ground among the palms.

Well that's it. Shows over. I just wanted to show the type of plants we get around here.

Your last pic. and the same (#98), of the variegated ginger is really a costus I believe. I'm still enjoying all the pictures! Nice stuff.
