EPILOGUE

The old adage, "It's the journey that's important, not the getting there!" can never be more so portrayed than in the growing of palm trees. From the purchase to the preparation of the soil prior to planting, the planting of course, fertiliser considerations, periodic mulching and of course the best part of the lot, watching her grow through the various stages of growth whilst you tend to it at it’s juvenile and sometimes precarious moments in it’s life.

One day it will be a mature specimen sure, very satisfying as well, yet, those days of protection and caring with pleasure and sheer enjoyment at those stages of growth are over. Let’s not kid ourselves, we ARE lucky, we ARE fortunate, to have found this habit, this passion, this life as a palm enthusiast.

And so this story too is stamped with the same motto, tis the trip to, not the arrival.

Tintin and his band of merry men returned home, their days as palm chasers are not over, there’s still many thousands of undiscovered hectares out there, and perhaps one day we’ll be able to acquire Dypsis tintinea or Ravenea haddockii, who knows ?

I, on the other hand, was never heard from for many many years, and then one day, about eight years ago, I was given some palm trees from my daughter as a birthday gift, and yes folks, as they say, the rest is history.

Soundtrack will be available soon..........

window pane? orange sunshine? didn't realize this was a drug thread? There is a difference between fantasy, and hallucinogens I think, but with some it is hard to tell?

Timothy would be proud, Bo probably not so much?

Look what I just found out, we're too late John.

Steven Spielberg is poised to make three movies based on the Belgian cartoon character Tintin. He plans a trilogy based on six of the classic books including Red Rackham's Treasure and The Blue Lotus reports French magazine Capital. Ace reporter Tintin travels the world solving mysteries with the help of his friends Captain Haddock, the Thomson Twins and his faithful dog Snowy.
