search feature needs some tweeking

I wanted to look up the PRA that we did to the SD Zoo and because all, or any, of the words in the title are under 4 characters it won't do it. I think the thread was called PRA to the SD Zoo. You can't search for PRA, SD, or ZOO. Can that be fixed?

Since it's your Birthday, I changed the minimum search length to 2. Your search (or similar) should work now.

This is a good change. I have on numerous occasions searched for "dos" for my shadehouse numero dos thread to bump it and I always forget I have to saerch for 4 letters... Good job birthday boy.

Sorry Pivi, I thought I answered this.

It should be for everyone. But there may be a MySQL override on that setting. So if it's not working, let me know. There is one more parameter I can "play" with.

Mod Edit: I did some checking myself and tweaked the Search Feature a little bit. Let me know if this is an improvement.

Hm. Now I can search with only 3 letters what didn't work for me yesterday.

But now i'm testing it with PRA and the problem is that it searches for any word that has pra in it.

For example spray.

Apparently getting what we really want with the search feature (just three letter words) is not possible with out some adjustments to the data base (MySQL) itself. At least that is what the forum manual says. I will check with the webhost to see if the server and database we use is able to do that, and if they can make the necessary changes.
