Good or Bad? I know it is High in numbers but it was the only soluble palm food I could find (to keep dogs safe.) Any suggestions?

Hi -- I'm new to palms (just planted my first five) and have dogs. I'm not sure about the product you listed, but I used Espoma Palm Tone (4-1-5) when I planted my two CIDP's and three filifera a couple of weeks ago. It's an organic product, and was recommended by one of the nurseries.

You can find out more information about this product by visiting the Espoma website. I hope this information is helpful.

I don't understand what the danger is with regular granular fertilizer. Especially if you've got mulch. It just goes down in.

I use Whitney Farms Palm food. It's organic. My dog likes to sniff the palms....

check out the link.... Whitney Farms Palm & Hibiscus Food

and......

Whitney Farms Organic

He's been okay for about three years since I started this.

My concern is how I ignorantly purchased and used coco shell mulch not knowing that it has killed a number of dogs. Thanks heavens that stuff is all gone now.

I've used fish emulsion and blood meal and the dogs will dig up the plants that it's around looking for the fish or the carcass.
