after the tour we went into the retail part of the operation & bought some of the product from the source.

they didnt allow photos in the shop.i think the crazy colors & patterns wouldve confused the camera,anyways.

went to another gamelan performance that nite.

day 8.nick convinces lauren(who is deathly afraid of motorbikes) to take a spin around the block with him

so he went down the steepest hill he could find!

big event of the day is the river hike in sayan.i have done it before & thought the girls would enjoy seeing the

countryside & swimming in the river.

heres our guide,a friend of wayans.he is a chef at the famous amandari hotel in sayan.

super-nice guy,too.

ayung river winds thru the sawa(rice terraces).

the girls moms were both pissed at me for this when they saw how steep a drop it is from the narrow path

(this is not so steep here).oops.

our guide was a fast walker for such short little legs.

that looked awfully inviting after hiking in the tropical sun.

the hike ended at the home of our guide,where wayan would pick us up.

looks like some new construction underway.

we had kopi bali & hung out with his family while we waited.
