That "Slick Willy" looks very much like a species of Dypsis onilahensis. I suppose that's what it is really, lucky it doesn't have an orange crownshaft  then it'd be called "Slick Wally" :floor:

Although I see this is an old thread, thanks so much for mentioning it in a current topic so newcomers like me can see it! Ironically, I just finished reviewing (AGAIN) Jeff's entire photo gallery and all his Palmpedia presentations before finalizing another order. 60 plus palms to plant in about 10 days-perhaps that's not everyone's idea of a vacation, but it suits me! Always wonderful plants and service! Thanks Jeff!

These are really amazing palms. Thank you Bo-Goran for the post and Jeff, thank you for your time and effort in Hawaii. I have several Floribunda palms in my garden and they're always incredible! When is the next biennial in Hawaii? Peter

Peter,

The next Biennial in Hawaii? Good question! Right now the only Biennial that's decided is Thailand in September 2012. We're having a Board Meeting in Tenerife in October this year and I'm sure that at time we will discuss and decide where the one in 2014 will take place. But it won't be Hawaii. The three Biennials in Hawaii have been in 1980, 1990 and 2004. It'll be several more years before another one here.

A "Palm Vacation of a Lifetime" to Hawaii was just offered, and would have included everything a Biennial could offer, and then some - and no one was interested. If the IPS is curious as to how much interest there is for a Biennial to Hawaii, the lack of response to this trip couldn't help much.

Mike,

Thanks! And since this is a three year old thread, a new updated one would seem to be in order. I'll keep that in mind next time I visit Floribunda. I'm sure Jeff will be up for a repeat! :)
