Beautiful place!  The mystery palm is Livistona chinensis, a clear indictor of a zone 9 climate.  They will naturalize in those settings.

Land O Lakes FL, a suburb on the North Side of Tampa, FL

Summers are great, 90f/32c in the day & 70f/21c at night with plentiful rain & sun

Winters are subtropical with occasional frosts and freezes. Tropical cyclones happen.

We have a few Royal palms in the warm microclimates but Coconuts freeze.

I am a Kayaker, Hiker, Bicyclist, and amateur Photographer that loves the outdoors.

One more thing to like about Louisiana.  No better fishing around.

Here is an ariel view of Avery Island.  There is a fishing spot or two around as these gentle men attest.  They were fishing in the bayou that borders the gardens.

This is a sidebar.  But, there must be some palms in there somewhere.

Beautiful park Keith. No wonder why you'd want to spend so much time there. I would never expect a Buddha in Louisiana!

I take some better pictures in the next few weeks to give you a better look. Even though it is just 10 miles away, I have not been back there since that photo shoot in 2008. Life just gets too busy.
