Kevin and I stopped over for dinner at one of those downtown Mexican food places a while back. Very tasty!

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

Thanks for the photo tour.  Interesting town.

We visited Kevin W. and I don't remember the lake.  I can only remember the hill climb to get to KW's house.  How far away is the lake?

The lake is west of Kevin's place, across the I-15 Freeway, against the mountains.

It's really quite spectacular.

I remember way back in the mid-1980s, when I first came there, and LE was such a sleepy place.  

Then it got sleazy (for a short time) then it cleaned up.

Drive up that road into the mountains, and view is mind-blowing!  The road rises from about 500 feet above sea level to about 5,000 feet in a short time.  Glorious!
