Where can I get a Brahea edulis in Europe? Preferably in Spain or Portugal and 30 liters or larger.

I'm surprised this palm is not more commonly available in Europe. I need a smaller scaled palm that can take dry summers and is hardy in zone 9a. I can find seedlings for sale but I'd really like to get my hands on a larger plant. I live in central Portugal. I did find a large one at A l'Ombre des Figuiers in northern France but the cost of shipping was too much for me. Ideally, there is one on the Iberian Peninsula that I can drive to and pick up.

Hi all, does anyone know a source of seeds from Chamaedorea carchensis or aka Chamaedorea benzeni. These appear to have been quite popular in California and so I was wondering if some of you might get seeds from this you would share or sell. Looks like it could do well in a large container and give a nice look. Do people have any temp data on this also, how cold has it taken and damage etc. thanks in advance.

Seeking seeds from: Rhapidophyllum hystrix and Sabal minor
by OntarioPalms- 2 replies

Hello, I am a palm fan currently living in a zone far too cold to cultivate members of the palm family in the ground without protection and artificial heat. I am looking for a source that will sell and ship palm seeds into Canada. I am in a zone 4 and am hoping to do a large grow out of palm seedlings for an experiment (different protection methods mostly- but also testing to see if there is much natural variability in genes or gene expression related to cold tolerance). Ideally I would be able to find a low cost source for seed sourced from northern/inland populations of these species to grow out. I think that select cultivated plants from beyond the native range wo…
